S KF is proud to announce the recent update of its innovative and free-of-charge software programme, DialSet 7.0, to further streamline SKF automatic lubricator set-up. After selecting the criteria and grease appropriate for the application, the new fully updated programme calculates the correct settings for SKF automatic lubricators and pumps. This ensures that the correct lubrication as well as the right quantity is released at the right time. Moreover, it provides a quick tool for re-lubrication intervals and quantity calculations.  SKF DialSet is also able to recommend better and more cost-effective solutions to alternative products.

“Accurate lubrication is fundamental to prolonging the life of bearings, giving rise to high equipment availability, prolonged lifecycle and subsequent plant uptime,” notes Eddie Martens, SKF Product Manager – MaPro. “However, just as important as the lubrication process itself, is the application of the right quantity of lube at the right time.” He also points out the cost implications associated with over-lubrication and the accompanying high grease consumption as well as under-lubrication which can potentially result in equipment failure and subsequent production stoppages.

Accurate calculations of lubrication intervals, which are determined by the properties of the selected grease, minimise the risk of under- or over-lubrication while optimising grease consumption. The calculations, which are based on SKF lubricating theories combined with best practices, consider all factors including the SKF automatic lubrication systems and grease dispense rates. This both facilitates and ensures the selection of the correct lubricator setting for user peace of mind.

System updates include the full range of high performance SKF lubricants to facilitate use and application. SKF DialSet 7.0 is able to calculate dispense settings for LAGD gas driven and electro-mechanical single point units (TLSD, TLSD 1-DK) as well as the SKF electro-mechanical single point automatic lubricant dispenser (TLMR series) and SKF Multipoint lubricators (TLMP series). The updated software also includes a complete list of the SKF System 24 accessories for easy reference and user convenience.

Due to the fully responsive design of the new Version 7.0, the application can be used on any smart device (desktop, mobile or tablet). After loading dialset.skf.com in the browser, all calculations will be downloaded to the user’s device allowing for the convenient usage of the tool offline. DialSet 7.0 is currently available in English with other languages to be rolled out in the near future.

DialSet 7.0 facilitates engagement between SKF specialists and end-users, enabling users to effortlessly do lubrication on SKF products. The new web responsive application for DialSet is now fully managed by SKF Mobility Centre. Furthermore, the DialSet App is included in a yearly maintenance contract with SKF Mobility Centre and product updates can therefore be made when customers have specific requirements. The application is also supported by skf.com/appsupport.
